The salt marshes of Guérande

During your stay at the campsite, discover the salt marshes of Guérande, which cover 1400 hectares.

The Guérande basin, a “classified site”, has between 280 and 300 salt workers, delivering between 8,000 and 12,000 tons of coarse salt and 200 to 300 tons of “Label Rouge” flower of salt for consumption each year.

During your discovery of the salt marshes you will see many traditional houses, notably from the 17th and 18th centuries (villages of Saillé and Clis).

Many establishments and associations offer to discover the functioning of the salt marshes and the life of the salt workers, yesterday and today. We can mention La Maison des Paludiers (Saillé), Terre de Sel (Pradel) but also the Salt Marshes Museum (Batz-sur-Mer).
